2009: The Year for Sewing

Looking over the projects I completed in 2009, it was easy to see that sewing took over. When my sister was gracious enough to gift me a sewing lesson for my birthday, I'm sure she had no idea she was contributing to an addiction. Soon enough I was tied to my machine. Just as soon as one project was in the works... another was cooking in my little brain (or the brain's of others). Aprons seem to be what I spent the bulk of my energy completing. Here are a few of my favorites:

Apron Mosaic

Other non-apron favorites include:

Making my own shirt!

Making Lemonade Weekend

Embroidering a bevy of mermaids for a lovely new bride.

Mermaids

And finally finding a decent bagel recipe.

Vegan Bagels

Happy New Year! I wonder what crafting addiction will take hold in 2010...

You certainly were bitten by the sewing bug! Lovely aprons, can't wait to see what you sew up in the new year. Happy sewing!

I just love those mermaids! I've been trying to embroider owls onto some old napkins, but they are coming out much smaller than anticipated. I'm thinking I shouldn't free hand stitch them, but rather draw them on first...
